Watchdog Commission Calls For Change To Virginia Marijuana Laws

Virginia’s Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission is recommending changes to the commomwealth’s laws on legalizing recrational marijuana which are to go into effect on July 1. The commission which according to the Times-Dispatch is tasked by lawmakers to study policy found among other things a better definition of what constitutes illegal possession of marijuana is needed plus lawmakers need to create a misdeamanor possession charge. Virginia’s cannabis regulation agency is in the process of being created.
