A Record-Setting Year For Virginia Lottery

The Virginia Lotteryreported record sales and profits for the state budget year ending on June 30th. Annual sales approached nearly $3.3 billion which is an over 50% increase over 2020. Lottery profits surged nearly 30% topping $765 million. That money goes to Virginia’s K-12 public school programs. Winners had a record year as well with $2.2 billion in prizes paid out. Official certification of the Lottery’s year-end results by the Auditor of Public Accounts is expected in mid-August.
