When the Mathews County Board of Supervisors meets next week they will be asked to approve close to $680,000 in funding to build 2 communications towers for deploying broadband internet. According to the Gazette-Journal the Mathews County Broadband Advisory Board is putting forth the funding request to come from the American Rescue Plan assistance approved earlier this year. The project will be going out for bids and according to the broadband board the total cost may be lower than the amount being requested.
