The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors scheduled a public hearing for Sept. 7 on removing the Confederate monument from the southwest corner of the courthouse green. According to the Southside Sentinel the board voted 3-2 to remove the statue but Virginia law requires the public hearing then the board needs to vote for a second time. The hearing will take place at the Historic Middlesex County Courthouse and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
