The Mill Creek boat ramp in Middlesex County is back open now that the silt has been removed once again. According to the Southside Sentinel area marine contractors donated their time and equipment to remove 560 cubic yards of sand. It’s the second time that the county was able to get the silt removed at no cost to taxpayers. The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources wants to relocate the launch at some point to a space less affected by silt and with more parking.
