Northam Answers Questions On School Mask Guidance

When it comes to mask-wearing policies for school divisions, it’s not going to be a one-size-fits-all rule. That’s according to Gov. Ralph Northam who answered questions Thursday on the new guidance issued by the commonwealth’s education and health officials. The current guidelines expire on Monday. Northam is still recommending mask wearing in elementary schools until the COVID-19 vaccine is approved for those under 12. Masks are recommended in middle and high schools for those who are not fully vaccinated.
