We now know which Mathews County is the most traveled – and also is the most hazadous. Sheriff Mark Barrick tells the Gazette-Journal it’s Route 198 from Windsor Road to Twiggs Ferry Road and between the heavy traffic and other hazards it’s also been the site of multiple collisions. The speed limit along that stretch is now 50 miles an hour but according to Barrick not all drivers see the new signage.
