Virginia Will Follow Updated Mask Guidance for Teachers and Students

Virginia health and school officials say vaccinated teachers and students won’t need to wear a mask when in class this fall. The commmonwealth is following new federal guidelines that came out last Friday. Those resulted from a decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths plus the vaccine availability to those as young as 12. The Virginia Department of Health is working with the Department of Education to review the guidance and will make necessary updates in the coming days.
