Virginia’s extra unemployment benefits paid for by the federal government will soon come to an end. According to the Virginia Employment Commission those additional benefits end Sept. 4 and the department has already started notifying customers about the end of the federal program. With rising wages and an all-time high number of job openings, VEC and its partners at the Virginia Career Works Centers are working to support workers as they seek to restart their careers.
