Governor Ralph Northam announced Virginia state workers will soon be required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated or be tested for COVID-19 every week. This policy goes into effect on September 1. Northam is followiing other governments and businesses making the same requirements. Virginia health officials say nearly 73 percent of adults have had their first shot, and 54 percent of all Virginians are fully vaccinated against the virus.
