The State Corporation Commission’s Bureau of Insurance reminds Virginians with late August to early October being the most dangerous and active time for tropical storm activity now is the time to review property insurance coverage. The Bureau encourages policyholders to talk to their insurance agent or company about what is and is not covered, how to reduce property damage and what to do if damage does occur. Officials say it can be difficult to increase coverage after a storm develops.
