Senate Signs Off On ARP Spending Plan

The Virginia Senate signs off on its plan to spend the $6.4 billion in federal coronavirus relief money less than one day after the House approved its version. The bulk of the spending goes to helping small businesses, improving air quality in public schools, increasing broadband access and bolstering the state’s unemployment trust fund. There are differences in the 2 plans and those will need to be reconciled before the bill goes to Gov. Ralph Northam’s desk.
