Urbanna’s 8th annual Founders Day celebration takes place on Saturday after being significantly reduced last year due to COVID-19. The Southside Sentinel reports the event is full of activities to commemorate the town’s colonial history including a fife-and-drum corps that will lead participants to various locations. Urbanna was created in June 1680 through the Act of Cohabitation that was designed to establish port towns throughout Virginia. The celebration opens at 10:30 a.m. in front of Town Hall on Cross St.
