Virginia lawmakers plan to convene a work group to review and address the compensation structure for correctional officers within the Department of Corrections along with deputy sheriffs and regional jail officers. A joint statement issued by Governor Ralph Northam, Senate Finance Committee Chair Janet Howell, and House Finance Chair Luke Torian says the group will deliver recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly no later than October 15.
