Chapman Trial Delayed Unti;l November

The trial for a Weems man charged in a 2020 homicide is delayed until November. The Rappahannock Record reports an increaase in COVID-19 cases caused the delay in Matthew Chapman’s trial which was to have started last Monday. Chapman is charged with killing John Gordon of Kilmarnock at Chapman’s former home in White Stone. He is facing a second degree murder charge after a judge ruled last year that prosecutors failed to show the shooting was premeditated.
