An attorney taking a plea deal in Lancaster County for practicing law without a license will be in jail for 6 months and pay a $2,500 fine. Acccording to the Rappahannock Record John B. Russell Jr. of Midlothian, had his law license suspended in 2019 for ethical violations but continued to represent clients in Lancaster County Circuit Court. His license was revoked in October 2020. Russell filed a no contest plea.
