September is “Spirits Month” in Virginia and the Rappahannock Record reports the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services are participating in the observance. Virginia is recognized as the birthplace of American spirits with whisky being distilled in 1620. The commonwealth is now home to over 70 craft distilleries. Today ABC Stores are offering 20% off a selection of Virginia-made products. Limit is 3 bottles per customer.
