The Montross Town Council is taking another shot at obtaining a Virginia Outdoor Foundation Grant to turn land near the town library into a public park. According to Westmoreland News the county was turned down the first time it applied for the $25,000 grant but the foundation gave Town Manager Patricia Lewis suggestions on improving the application and she worked with the Northern Neck Planning District Commission to resubmit the application. The results won’t be known until November.
