The final details on the Montross Volunteer Rescue Squad’s dissolution are now being worked out. According to Westmoreland News a lawyer representing the squad gave a presentation to the county Board of Supervisors outlining the events that led to the end of the service that started in 1989 and and what tasks remain before wrapping up operations. One of those is liquidating the department’s assets including making a $500,000 cash donation to the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department and the squad’s building to the county.
