Northam Ceremonially Signs Voting Rights Act Of Virginia

Governor Ralph Northam ceremonially signs the Voting Rights Act of Virginia into law on Monday. The act allows voters to sue for suppression while it also protects people against voter discrimination. Voting materials will also be provided in different languages. Northam calls voting the backbone of democracy and says the bill is the strongest voter protection law in the country. The legislation was passed in the 2021 General Assembly regular session.
