Even though the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors cancelled a public haring regarding the removal of the Civil War monument on the Historic Courthouse grounds the public still weighed in on the matter during the Board’s meeting last week. The Southside Sentinel reports comments for and against the removal were made during the meeting’s public comment period. An advisory referendum on the statue’s removal will be on the November 2 general election ballot but ultimately the Board will have the final say.
