The continuing increase in COVID-19 cases from the Delta variant results in the Virginia Department of Health adding 170 additional community testing events this month. Officials say while local health departments, pharmacies and hospitals are doing their best to keep up with the demand the department is adding the events to help ease the pressure and reserve hospital emergency rooms and rescue squads for medical emergencies.
