VEC Delaying New System Rollout Until November

The Virginia Employment Commission is delaying the launch of a new unemployment insurance system until November. The updated system was to go live on Friday, but VEC officials say they want to allow more time for testing before the rollout. The current system will be down in late October to prepare for implementation of the new system and during that time customers will not be able to file initial or reopened claims, weekly claims or obtain inquiries. Appeals functions will continue without interruption.
