You’ve heard about the supply chain issues that are affecting merchandise on store shelves – now a similar issue is affecting construction of the new bridge on Route 625 over Barrick’s Millpond near Wake. According to the Southisde Sentinel a nationwide steel shortage is delaying the project’s completion. Work began in June and was to be done last month. DOT officials say drivers will be using the over 3-1/2-mile long detour route until at least December.
