The Department of Transportation announced Wednesday the Route 223 bridge over Gwynn’s Island has resumed openings for marine traffic. Officials conducted an inspection of the bridge’s tender house which was struck Tuesday by a piece of equipment towed by a vehicle. Bridge marine openings are at 2:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Both lanes of Route 223 are open.
