The Irvington Town Council is asking residents to use a “porch light” policy to invite trick-or-treaters to their homes. According to the Rappahannock Record the council unaimously passed a motion recommending turning on lights if kids are welcome to collect candy and those with no lights are asking for children and families to respectfully keep their distance. The Villiage Improvement Association informed the council thre will be no costume contest this year due to COVID-19 safety measures.
