Kilmarnock police officers may soon be getting body cameras. According to News on the Neck the town is applying for a Department of Criminal Justice Services grant which if approved will be added to $11,000 already allocated. Town Manager Susan Cockrell says the package costs around $62,000 and includes nine cameras, three tasers, the necessary software and storage for the footage. Cockrell says the grants are awarded annually and the town intends to apply each year.
