The design process continues for Topping’s new sewer system. According to the Southside Sentinel the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors okayed having a consultant design what’s called a low pressire wastewater collection system which will cost less than a vacuum system. The next step is getting the Hampton Roads Sanitation District to buy into the low pressure design as they only operate vacuum systems. Should the district reject the proposed design the county will bear the cost of operating the new system.
