The Northumberland County Board of Supervisors authorizes the Sheriff’s Office to move ahead with finding a new vendor for its computer aided dispatch system. According to the Rappahannock Record the department signed a contract with the current system vendor in 2018 and since then there’s been a number of issues leading the department not to renew the agreement when it expires in January of 2023. Officials say much of the new system’s cost qualifies for using money from the county’s American Rescue Plan Act funding.
