The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration will be accepting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at its semi-annual drug take back event on Oct. 23. Pills will be accepted at 195 Judicial Place in Heathsville between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at no charge with no questions asked. Prohibited items include sharps, needles, liquids, aerosols, and ointments. Nearly 27,000 pounds of drugs were collected in Virginia at the April take back event.
