Virginia’s Democratic Party is suing the United States Postal Service claiming it failed to process and deliver election-related mail on time. According to political website The Hill the suit claims the delays are “threatening to disenfranchise” thousands of voters ahead of next week’s gubernatorial election. Postal Service officials tell The Hill they are not aware of any ballot processing or delivery delays. COVID-19 has resulted in a large increase of mail-in ballots.
