VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital launches a new telepsychiatry program in partnership with Array Behavioral Care which is the country’s largest telepsychiatry practice. Telepsychiatry delivers mental and behavioral health care through real-time, in-hospital videoconferencing. Tappahannock Hospital’s program implements on-demand telepsychiatry which effectively delivers care without the having to staff an in-person psychiatry provider. Array psychiatry clinicians will see Tappahannock patients directly in the emergency department or inpatient units and consult on next steps, treatment plans, and prescribe medication if necessary.
