Virginia Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine coordinator Dr. Danny Avula says the department is encourged by a FDA committee’s recommendation for Moderna and Johnson and Johnwon COVID 19 vaccine booster shots and await action by the full FDA and the final decision by the CDC on booster availability. Avula says they will continue planning efforts to ensure that once official guidance is issued, eligible Virginians will be able to access a booster dose.
