Witness Signatures Needed On Absentee Ballots

The Virginia Department of Elections reminds voters who are filing absentee ballots for the 2021 General Election that a witness signature is required on the ballot. Officials say if the general registrar finds that the witness signature is missing, the voter will be notified within three days that the ballot needs to be changed. Corrected ballots need to be submitted by noon on Nov. 5 – 3 days after Election Day – for it to be counted.
