Chapman Found Guilty In 2020 Death Of Kilmarnock Man

It took a jury a little over 2 hours to find Matthew Scott Chapman guilty of second-degree murder in the 2020 death of John Carter Gordon. The Rappahannock Record reports that Chapman was also found guilty for using a firearm while committing a murder or malicious wounding, and for shooting in the commission of a felony. Chapman was charged with killing Gordon at Chapman’s former home in White Stone. A pre-sentencing hearing is set for next March.
