Members of the Lively Hope Baptist Church’s cogregation are asking the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors and the Virginia Department of Transportation to make changes at a turn on Lively Hope Road so drivers don’t go into the church’s cemetary. The Rappahannock Record reports there’s been damage to the headstones since the 1980s but the worst was in September with 2 vaults and 13 stones damaged. Officials are looking at possible changes but a guardrail is not being considered.
