The Treasuers’ Association of Virginia recognizes the Gloucester County Treasurer’s Office for achieving accredidation for the 18th year in a row. Treasurer Tara Thomas tells the Williamsburg-Yorktown Daily that it is a tangible recognition of the effort put forth each and every day by the Treasurer’s Office. To obtain accredidation offices have to pass an outside audit, submit proof of continuing education and educational requirements of staff plus have policies on customer service as well as delinquent collections.
