Governor Ralph Northam says he is not planning to declare a state of emergency over the new Omicron COVID-19 variant nor will he reinstate prior COVID-19 restrictions. The governor was asked about that as the Executive Mansion’s Christmas trees were delivered on Monday. Northam did say all options are on the table but at this stage people should not panic but instead pay close attention. New York’s governor declared a state of emergency last Friday.
