The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources provides an update on repairing damage at the Chandler’s Mill Pond dam. According to Westmoreland News Executive Director Ryan Brown outlined a redesign of the dam after conducting some emergency repairs following floods earlier this year. That calls for lowering the permanent pool by about a foot plus adding a spillway added to help avert or at least delay an overflow during massive storms. It’s not clear when a plan will be chosen.
