VEC Systems Offline For Upgrade

The Virginia Employment Commission is making upgrades to its Unemployment Insurance System software. Systems were shut down late Monday and officials say they along with telephone access will be unavailable for several days. For those who didn’t get a claim in before the shutdown it will be paid once the systems are back operational. Appeals functions and job assistance are continuing without any interruption. The Commission has been working on the upgrade for a decade.
