The Northern Neck of Virginia Chapter of the National Audubon Society is holding its sixth annual Christmas Bird Count on December 14. President Kevin Howe tells the Rappahannock Record that people can survey just their yard or neighborhood or any special area they wish, as long as it is in the15-mile circle centered between Kilmarnock and Wicomico Church. The Christmas Bird Count takes place in over 3,000 localities across the country.
