Virginia’s redistricting process which is necessary after new census data is released will take a little longer in Lancaster & Northumberland Counties. According to News on the Neck officials from both counties will not get their redistricting completed by the end of the year. Northumberland will employ a joint effort between county staff and a citizen committee while in Lancaster County the issue is finding a way to not split up Kilmarnock into separate districts.
