New Year’s Day will bring a pay raise for minimum-wage workers. It will increase from $9.50 to $11 an hour then to $12 an hour rate by 2023. Lawmakers set a goal to raise the minimum wage by $3 in 2026 but any increase over $12 needs to get legislative approval which could happen in the GA session starting next month. Many businesses have increased wages to attract workers during COVID-19.
