New Barrrick’s Mill Road Bridge Is Open

The new Barrrick’s Mill Road bridge in Middlesex County is open to traffic. Construction began in June after the span over Barrick’s Pond was deemed structurally deficient. Drivers were forced to use a 3-mile-long detour during construction and supply chain issues delayed completing the 40-foot long concrete slab structure. Along with the replacement new pavement was installed at the bridge’s approaches. The span was built by the Virginia Department of Transportation’s state forces bridge crew.
