Governor Ralph Northam is winding down his term by announcing his proposed 2-year budget will call for a 10% pay raise for teachers. According to the Governor’s office this is the largest increase in 15 years and when matched by local funds, the increase will push compensation for the typical Virginia teacher above the national average. Northam made the announcement at the kickoff of his Thank You, Virginia’ Tour on Monday.
