The Virginia Lottery reports sports betting last month topped $427 million which is a new monthly record and a 45% increase from the previous month. Officcials say the increased wagering activity in Octoberwas tied to five full weekends of NFL and college football action. Bettors took home more than $397 million. Since betting began in 2021 nearly $2.4 billion has been wagered on a wide variety of approved sporting events.
