The Mathews County School Board appoints Lorraine Forrest of Port Haywood to fill the vacancy that resulted when Jeanice Sadler resigned due to a move out of the county. According to the Gazette-Journal 9 people applied to fill the interim term that runs through 2022 when a special election is held to fill Sadler’s remaining term. Forrest says she plans to run in that election, as well as the full four-year term following that.
