Ransomware Attack Shuts Down General Aswekbly IT Division

A ransomware attack shuts down computers at Virginia’s Division of Legislative Automated Systems which is the General Assembly IT agency. A spokesperson for Gov. Ralph Northam’s office tells the Associated Press the governor directed other executive branch agencies to help with assessing and responding to the incident which has also caused several websites to be inaccessible. A cybersecurity firm is also working in getting the systems back up.
