The Virginia Supreme Court will have a new Chief Justice to start the new year. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Justice S. Bernard Goodwyn will succeed Donald W. Lemons who is leaving on Dec. 31. Lemons was elected to the Supreme Court in 2000 and served as chief justice for seven years. His current term ends in March of 2024. Goodwin was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2007 and re-elected last year.
