Virginia law enforcement agencies are again joining forces for the Statewide Checkpoint Strikeforce Campaign to stop drunk driving during the holiday season, The campaign combines extra enforcement with research-based messaging to remind Virginians to make responsible decisions when drinking. Last year more than 270 people died in alcohol-related crashes. The campaign runs through New Year’s Day. In addition to increased road patrols there will be additional sobriety checkpoints across the Commonwealth.
